When I'm With You - 2008

This was a poem I found last week or so - written on a memo pad that I haven't used for a while. Not sure exactly when I had written it except that I had written it sometime in early or mid 2008. As I was browsing through my archive here to see if I had posted this already, I got to one old poem and decided to read through it titled Saviour of Thy Soul. (click on title to read)

Although this person that I had dedicated the "Saviour of Thy Soul" poem to is no longer physically near me, I could relive the emotions I had when I had written that - brought tears to my eyes (joy and sadness).

Below is the poem I had found that hasn't been posted.

When I am with you
I longed to embrace you
to hold your hand
walking side by side
give baby kisses to you
gaze into your eyes
deeply and passionately

To stroke your hair
run my fingers on your soft skin
wrestle with you
laugh with you
cry with you
I adore you so much
no words can express that

I longed for you to touch me
to say sweet somethings to me
to kiss me passionately
to cuddle me in your strong arms.

When we're together
and when we're apart
There will be times
that we may feel being ignored because of the silence
Know that it's untrue
for there are things on my mind to work on

There will be times
when we feel unloved/abandoned because of the distance and detachment
Know that it's untrue
for I have you close in my thoughts and heart

There will be times
when we can't be with each other
to support each other because of circumstances
Know that deep down
how I wish to be right by your side
to give you the support you need

There will be times
when we aren't listening to each other because our minds are blocked
Remember that we have to find our balance
to open our ears to listen with empathy and patience

There will be times
when things don't go the way we want to because of circumstances
or lack of understanding
Remember that we have to accept the things we can't control
and learn to deal with them
And for the things we can control
we will help each other have a better understanding
in order to find a solution together

There will be times
that one of us are not in the mood because of various reasons
Remember that
it's probably not your fault
and if it is
we will make sure to share our thoughts with each other
to gain an understanding so we can try reignite things
or find ways that work

There will be times
when life becomes like a roller coaster
Know that I will be riding the ride with you
till the end beside you

The love I have for you
frightens my soul and heart

to be taken care
with great care and attention

For I will lend my ear and shoulder
and be there for you always

your intimate thoughts and fantasies

As I was thinking about "stuff", suddenly I was inspired to write and started humming which led to actually singing what I was writing at the same time to a tune. Very rare that I was actually able to put a tune to the whole thing. Interesting experience and very spiritually fulfilling.

Unfortunately, I can't really tell you at which pitch/note that I had sung with as I am totally unfamiliar with it, but was pretty mellow and slow like a ballad. Would love this to be made into a song by someone eventually. :) Maybe.

Thoughts of WISDOM

The mind

A powerful source

Connects your every senses

Emotions like a yo-yo

Optimism versus negativity

Each tries to over power

Knowledge and wisdom

Courage and confidence

That ripens with time

Life

Comes with peaks and valleys

Joy and pains

to enrich one's life and tolerance

Insecurities, doubts and judgements

A belief within ourself that we are unworthy

Of the greatness nature is ready to offer us

Nature reflects our beliefs

In people we interact with

And situations we encounter

To knock senses to us for changes

In ourselves, situations or people we hold dear

Jealousy and unthoughtful

Ego and ignorance

Are values to distant oneself from

For the better of things

Love, smiles, hugs

"Thank you" and "Sorry"

Are emotions and words

So powerful

In everyday life

Goodness that never fails nor fade.

"Rolling emotions"

freedom and independence

one that i have longed for

now i have it

if not close

what does it bring?

choices, decisions, conflicts

and many more

i seek love,

i seek career

and financial stability,

i seek companionship,

i seek experiences,

knowledge and wisdom,

i seek happiness

and contentment in life

to the heart and soul

will i find it?

staying strong is never easy,

comes with lots of sacrifices, heart aches,tears and joy

everything in a package

confidence and optimism

a constant maintainance

people see the pleasant framework

what made the structure

not many know

all the hardship in life

to construct that,

is all a total exploration

and mystery.

confusion creates

doubts and heart aches

dealing with it

is never easy

a strong and constructive

mind needed.

feel the need

to be wanted

to be needed

to be loved

and give love

to be important

to be strong

to be attractive

to be wild

to be cared for

to provide cares

to be supported

and to give support

to be independent

to be courageous

to be the best

i can be.

mental loneliness

is hard to endure

fear of hope

only to despair

stabbing wounds

punching like waves

in the heart

tears of sorrow

aching heart

with every attempt

is something to overcome

and be stronger

for another attempt

and another and another.

loneliness

seeking the feeling

of being missed

of being loved and wanted

in every sense.

wished to come home to someone

and for someone to come home to me

is very fulfilling

sharing precious quiet moments

in each other's arms

feeling the warmth and love

from each other.

every drop of tear is a sorrow shed

Would you

Would your eyes sparkle if I looked in them,

and if I kissed you gently on your cheek

Would your skin be soft,

And if I stroked back your hair with my hand to see your lovely face,

Would you smile,

And to hold your hand and pull you to me and whisper to say " I love you"

and to kiss you so gentle on your lips,

to feel how warm they are,

and to put my arms around you

to hold you and feel your heart against mine,

never to let you go,

just to watch you walk beside me,

And to look at you,

as you laugh with a smile as bright as the sun,

feeling the water on our smiles,

What happened?

That all these attributes have been change with just a snap

I still wonder at times

Why it happened?

Maybe it's for the best or maybe

It's to draw people we hold dear nearer to us

Everything in life is a mystery to unfold

So many decisions to make and failures to face and struggle

Is this what we call human life?

There's still more to learn about life altogether

May this journey of realisation and exploration be a fruitful one.

Why?...Why?....Why?

Why did this happen?

Is this how our life should be?

So many questions yet to be answered!

Will we ever fall in love again with each other?

Only HE knows

Did we expected too much from each other?

So many restrictions we have set upon ourselves and the relationship

till it reached a dead end road

Where we have lost ourselves in soul altogether

Maybe this is the time HE has set upon us

To find our soul and true self again

To feel the love, care and comfort we need for our precious life

To find out if we were really meant for each other or otherwise

It's such a hurtful and painful phase to go through

to find self and life realisation of what we need in our life

But I think that's how HE has planned and want it to be

For us to learn the lessons that we need

For our soul to be successful in our life

May HE guide us and look upon us when we are in need of HIM

To send a guardian angel to guide us

May HE have mercy on our souls and

May HE bless us from head to toe.

Knowing that you are happy

I am happy too

Sadness

I've never felt so much hurt

till you betrayed me as a friend

Neglecting as you would

Is ever so disheartening

I thought you were my friend

to be there for me and care for me in times of need

However, it is all only a lie through and through

You have never been my sincere friend

Though we are far apart,

I could feel the bond that we have together

These poems were written back in 1999 by myself while I was doing some soul searching within myself when I was going through my valleys and peaks to center myself, cleanse my soul and find myself. I found it a good way for me to release my emotions which had helped me tremendously to center myself when need be.

Life

Though things are different now

But deep down inside,

I would like you to know

That I will be there for you

When you are in need,

I will be your supporting pillar

For I will still love you

For the rest of my life.

Remember that life

Is always full of struggles

That we have to face

So that we will grow stronger within

To face the challenges

That are bound to surface in our life.

Face it with dignity and pride

Be strong and know that

You will succeed in time to come.

Be grateful with what you have

And cherish them while you still can,

Be happy with all your accomplishments in life

For that is what you reap with every effort you have put in

Hurt

What have I done to you

for you to have that cruel intention

For I've been good to you

treated you with respect and

this is what I receive in return?

Hearing that few words coming from you

Is ever so painful to hear

The hurt that you've caused

will change my view of you FOREVER!

All this while I thought you were my "friend"

Instead you were actually in disguise

You are such a hipocrit

I pity you having to live a life of hipocracy

The burden you carryin your heart is ever so devastating

I forgive you for what you have said and hurt me

For that's the only way I'll ever go on with my life with peace and harmony

May you look deep into your true self worth

than being such a hipocrit

And lose all your sincere heart felt and caring abilities
